Our small group lessons are designed for students who are doing well in school, and are looking for enrichment and be challenged. The main focus of the group lesson is to advance your child in their critical thinking, conceptual understanding, and problem solving. Our students meet twice a week on the regular basis. Each lesson builds carefully on the concepts introduced in previous lessons and preceding years. We do not teach to a test or rush through concepts. Instead, we emphasize development of logical thinking over memorization. From our experience, the key to success is consistency! This is an all year program. If you are looking to advance your child’s math and reading skills, this would be a great option for your family.
OUR RECOMMENDATIONS
If your child’s current grade in school is C or below, we feel that small group lessons will not be appropriate at this time. Instead, we would like to recommend one-on-one tutoring. During one-on-one tutoring your child will move at their own individual pace. Our main focus will be to fill any gaps so your child has a strong foundation on which to build. Also, we will work to help your child learn and master the new concepts that arise each week at school. Once we reassess your child’s skills and feel that he or she is showing a sufficient improvement, with your permission, we will transition him or her into group lessons.
